You should look into it. Also lemme know if those headers will fit into the engine bay and not interfere with any existing parts that might be in the way.
Did you ever get to putting this new throttle body in? Will it work? I'm looking for new stuff to do. Like right now lol

the headers wont fit because we have our cat in a different position than the cobalts but you can get some fabbed up or you can get a header/downpipe combination but the downpipe would need shortening.

How come you havnt done it yet? Is it to expensive? Have you done any performance upgrades? Also with a tune what gains do you think we can see from it?

i havent done it yet because im 17 and trying to get a job. however i do have a long list of performance mods that i am going to do before my dyno tune so that my car can withstand a more aggressive tune. i would hope to see 10-15hp from the tune and then while im at it i would throw the cobalt weapon-r intake into the works to get more hp.

I wouldnt do it unless you plan on replacing everything. Thats what I did. I have a few more miles on though. If you just go with the Monro sensitrack's they have a liftime warrenty. I dont think KYB does. The whole job cost me a little over a grand even with the Pro kit.

Hey Adam, which header length do you think would be best for our cars? I'm thinking short, to help on the low end. Then running it into a 2.5" downpipe with a high flow CAT. If I understood your earlier post correctly, we can use the Cobalt parts, however the downpipe will have to be shortened. Correct?

So what other options do we have as far as performance wise?

headers: if u get one, get the OBX or something like it because it comes with a dp (that will need to be shortened)

as far as performance, from my research, we have:

                    pistons
                    cams
                    intake (with tune)
                    exhaust
                    connecting rods
                    injectors
underdrive pulley, alternator puley, and shortened GM belt
                    LSJ throttlebody adapter
DDM Works Sky center feed fuel rail
                    neutral balance shafts
forged ecotec blocks for around $4K
headers, either modified OBX or custom (i vote custom)

then if u wanna go F/I:

Hahn racecraft turbo kit (2 to choose from)
                    ZZP turbo kit
                    ZZP S/C kit
                    Custom Pedobear turbo setup
                    Harrop TVS-1320 S/C swap
                    LSJ Take-off kit

                    Hope this helps...

but its virtually useless and only takes hot air into the engine. only 7hp (and thats in ideal conditions) and without a doubt the cobalt intake + tune is a better idea.

I don't kno about hot air. Cars are desgined to stay cool. Unless ur at a red light or traffic yes maybe noticable hot air. Otherwise if your driving ur engine is desgined to keep cool and air from outside is constantly flowing through. The air doesn't change if u have a stcok air box or intake. If u have stock there is a plastic box cover the filter. That box doesn't make the air cold all it does is lessen the amount of air coming in so if any air comes in its going to be the same temperature regardless. That's just my opinon I really don't kno I'm just saying I'm probably wrong but kinda makes sense.

I will say this if u have the extra money too get a tune and an intake wich should be almost 900$. That would be the best option yes but not many ppl have that extra money. Everyones always talking about dollar per HP and that doesn't seem worth it for the intake. For now get the injen and later get the tune. That's what I'm doin hoping to get a tune next month.

hey bro, it 100% makes a difference to have an airbox or the filter sectioned off away from the hot engine air. The engine operates at about 200-225*F and you dont want air that hot going into ur intake. With an air box or partition, the air that is fed up through the intake resonator or ram air depending on if you have the tiger crab is wayyyy colder than the air from the engine. Partitioning the intake off creates a CAI or Cold Air Intake. Secondly, the neckdown that you see in the intake piping only restricts air flow. with a cobalt K&N or Weapon-R, you do not have the neckdown, you just have a continuously thick intake tubing which is what throws the CEL and lean on our le5 6'ers. However, with the K&N, the AVERAGE improvement is 16.8hp. Add that to the tune that would be required to allow our car to accept the CAI and you would be looking at 20-25hp increase. that is WAY worth the cost involved. But then again it always helps to have someone you know that owns a dyno shop so you can get cheaper pricing.
