I would really love to take that plate off the front but Texas requires them sadly. I was thinking about moving it to the side of the bumper but wont that leave holes where it is bolted on now? I guess I could fill them in but paint matching would be a bitch I am sure. Looking for options to anyone in TX that has moved it! I should look at what Lampoon did for this, he is in TX too.

I don't think he's done anything. I would look into a hide a plate. Ohio requires one too but I won't put one on mine.

Been a busy week! So WAMS Tune came in this morning surprisingly. Was told a few weeks and took him less then a week to get it to me. Installed it and had the Chevy dealer do the crank relearn which they did for free in about 15 min. We buy fleet vehicles from them so they hook us up on our personal cars. I didnt have to even lie he knew what was happening lol. He said dont worry no matter what happens we wont flash it haha.

Got the mandrel bent 180 degree pipe for the camaro muffler so it is going in along with the res. delete and 35136 magnaflow tips tomorrow bright and early.

Rotors and pads going on in the morning as well when they do the suspension so in other words I will be at my mechanics shop all damn day.

Finally...DDM fog HIDS came in from China this afternoon so when they have it on the lift tomorrow doing the exhaust i will be up front working on that. Cant believe this all came together all at once, such awesome timing. Every dog has his day I guess. I hope there is a good mounting point for the balast near the fogs like there was up front for the eagle eyes.

Also in case you missed my post i went ahead and got the sweeplite for the tail they look awesome. Will be doing the tint over again as the stock tint is bubbling in the back. Put it on my Sig since that will be this week. Crabs went in last week too but I forgot to post here about it. I am just about doe with the big stuff.

Trying to find a good head unit now, have the sub already just need the amp to go with it then will buy the metra kit. That should be in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

SO after being in the shop all day my car was filthy. Took it to the car wash and after they sprayed it down I noticed some water in the taillight. Went to look and sure enough it was on the inside. Looked closer and saw the housing had popped where the middle bolt is. The plastic was sitting there with the rear bolt still attached. Time to get the crazy glue out, must have bolted it down too tight. Going to seal it while it is out too.

                  Re: justeric78 - 2008 G6 GXP 3.6L Coupe Street Edition

Performance is all done at least as far as I am going to go with it. So it is time to turn to the audio system. Ordered over the last few days..

Viper 5704 with some add on modules in my sig
Kicker Amp to go with my L7 Sub
                  Pioneer DEH-P9400BH

and since it is such a pita to rip out the monsoon system I am just going to leave it for now. If later I decide that it just does not sound good enough I may add speakers and an amp for the rest but we will see how it goes. I am hoping I will be happy just adding the head unit and sub into the mix.

As far as the Viper is concerned I am into this vehicle about four grand now and I just do not want to have something swiped. I have had stereos taken before which broke my heart but now if they hurt my car to get to some shitty head unit I would just be pissed. At least this will page me so I can go out and get my ass beat by them too so I will feel better, right?

Anyway, Need to get some pics up of my exhaust which I already have but am to lazy to hook up my phone to upload the pics. Will get them done soon. My tint is being redone tomorrow so perhaps after that is finished I will take some new ones.

Edit: Never mind on the exhaust I see that I already posted it above, been a long week. Will get new pics up anyway when the tint is finished tomorrow.

Edit x2: Almost forgot to mention. I also added a 60gb Intel series 520 solid state drive to the glove compartment for music, videos, and misc. pics etc. The Pioneer has dual usb outputs ibn the rear which are wired up into the glove compartment to hook whatever into. Being the geek I am I formatted the SSD drive to be read by the head unit despite the 60gb size. Now to fill that baby up with sweet sweet music.

If you have the proximity sensor with the Viper it will be more effective. A silent alarm will give you plenty of time to choose what flavor of gun you feel like cleaning afterward.

you will also need to upgrade your door and rear deck speakers to keep up with the sub. Wiring the rear deck with an amp is easy and quick. The front is a little more time consuming but changing out the old Monsoon tweets and woofer will bring the sound to a whole new level even on the factory amp.

I chose not to get the prixmity sensor because evefrytime I have had one in the past the damn things were annoying as hell. Plus with a two way pager I would never get any work done again with all the false alarms. I am told though if I decide later to throw one in it is a minor ordeal and the module itself is very cheap. I will try it without first but man it did make me think and now your post is making me think more..bad sir, bad!

As far as switching out the rear and door speakers I thought the connections were proprietary and no one could find a good set that would fit, am I mistaken? That is why I did not look into it but would love to be able to swap them out as I know in the back of my mind that you are right and the sub will just drown out everything else and I will get no mid/high. I did not want that kind of system. If you have any links preferably or just recommendations for what fits with the monsoon amp man I would really appreciate it.

The sensor is adjustable so it can be adjusted to the point where you would have to actually be touching the car or standing right at it. It can also be set to not sound the actual alarm but only give warning chirps that shouldn't alert your remote pager.

As for the replacement speakers polk Audio makes a good set that has separate terminals for high/mid and woofer. You will have to make a plug to adapt from the fact plug or just splice into the wires that go to the speaker. One is highs only and the other is bass only. BUT If you are already installing an amp for a sub you will only have to run wires from the amp or another amp straight to your new rear deck speakers. You will have already spliced into the wires for the amp so just use a splitter set of RCA's or use the RCA out on your amp to supply the full range amp. I have no clue which amp you have.

I have a 12" DXI Polk sub and a Polk 5000.5 5channel amp I will be installing whenever I can get off my ass and get to it lol
I replaced the factory Monsoon 6X9's with a cheap set of Pioneer 4 way's and the difference in quality and volume is pretty big even though they are only running off the Monsoon amp. The rear is much louder than the front door speakers which I still need to replace with Polk MM6501's The Pioneer's will also be replaced with Polk MM691's and the Monsoon amp will be torn out.

I would really consider a multi channel amp. Once you get the audio bug it's hard to shake.

Well, the Kicker mono amp had already been ordered but I had planned if replacing the rear deck and doors to get a separate amp anyway from past experiences. At that point though I would probably need to do the big 3 upgrade and I am probably looking at another almost grand. Think I will see how it sounds first and then make a decision. I would have to wait till the end of Nov. anyway for the deck and doors and do not want to wait that long for the head unit and sub. If I am doing a whole different amp anyway I do not think it would make a difference when I do it or what speakers I get.
